An asphalt roofing felt made of a specially formulated organic sheet, which has been fully saturated with waterproofing asphalt. Preconditioned to help it lay flat and remain stable after installation on a roof deck. Application guidelines are applied 7½”, 8”, 10” and 10½” from each outside edge. A breather type underlayment used beneath wood shingles and shakes, as a barrier to wind driven rain and snow.
BREATHABILITY
Our Felt is designed and manufactured to allow the transmission of moisture vapor, allowing the roof deck to breathe, while keeping bulk water from shingle leaks out. This helps prevent the rotting of wood decks, which can be caused by non-permeable synthetic products, and helps roofing materials last longer.
WALKABILITY
Our Felt is manufactured to have the best walking surface of any roofing felt on the market.
MADE WITH THE CANADIAN ENVIRONMENT IN MIND
HAL Felt is made in Canada from locally sourced materials that have both pre-consumer and post-consumer wood and paper recycled material, garnering LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points where applicable.
Felt Dimensions:
- Standard Compliance: CSA A123.3
- Dimensions: W: 3' L: 72' Sqft: 216
- Roll Weight: 48 LBS
INSTALLATION
Our Felt is pre-conditioned to lay flat and remain stable during and after installation. Our heavy weight reinforcements greatly increase tensile strength and prevent tearing during installation.
USES
HAL Felt is used beneath shingles, shakes or tiles as a secondary protective layer between the roof deck and the finished roofing. This secondary layer protects against wind-blown moisture which may occasionally penetrate past the outer roofing material.
