24`` Heavy Handsplit Shake
Most Handsplit Shakes manufactured today are much more uniform and refined than they used to be over a century ago thanks to improved and automated manufacturing techniques. That being said, we occasionally need to replace some shakes on historical buildings that require them to look more authentic. This was the case with the shakes for the Frank Melville Memorial Park in Setauket, NY. Have a look at these rustic beauties, installed on a home originally designed by Richard Havilland Smythe. Custom-cut “crooked” shakes were used for siding. Our standard 24″ Heavy Handsplit Shake was used for the roof. They turned out great!
