Direct Cedar Supplies has excellent relationships with the biggest common carriers in North America. We have the most competitive shipping rates with excellent discounts for residential deliveries. If you live in a neighborhood with limited access, our carriers will be sure to load your order onto a smaller truck that will be able to get to you and lower your order to the curb with a powered lift gate.
For larger orders, we have the option of shipping in a dry van if you a loading dock, or on a 53’ flat bed so you can unload with a forklift on your end. If you have a larger order but still have limited access, not to worry. We can break your pallets down and transload them onto a smaller truck so we can still accommodate your delivery.

No. We ship worldwide. We have clients and partners on every continent except Antarctica. We have great relationships with many ocean and air freight and can accommodate your order no matter where you need your cedar delivered.
This one is a little trickier than some think as there are technically two types of shakes – smooth sawn “tapersawn” shakes and the more rustic, corrugated “handsplit & resawn shakes”. Shingles on the other hand are all smooth sawn on both faces. With a roofing shingle, they are thinner than most shakes and are installed in a “3 ply” system, meaning there is always three shingles between the roof deck and the elements.
We take care of that for you on this end before we ship. We have two treatments available: CCA Preservative Treatment or Fire Retardant Treatment. CCA Preservative Treatment protects against moss, mildew, termites and the effects of moisture being trapped underneath the cedar. The chromium-containing preservatives also protect against degradation by ultraviolet light. CCA treatment offers tremendous benefits, especially in climates with high humidity or heavy rainfall.
The other treatment we offer is fire retardant treatment. Available in Class B or Class C, fire retardant treatment offers protection against fire exposure. Lasting the life of your shake or shingle, fire retardant treatment is an excellent choice in areas vulnerable to fire or areas where local or state building codes require it.
Both treatments are pressure impregnated throughout the cells of the cedar, giving you treatments lasting the life of the shake or shingle.
Whether it’s our Western Red, Eastern White, or Alaskan Yellow Cedar siding shingles, we have a number of options for you there. Would you like to keep the original tones and colors of the cedar? We can have the factory pre-stain the shingles with a clear stain. Interested in choosing your own color? No problem. We can have your shingles pre-stained in a custom color of your choosing in either a semi-transparent, semi-solid, or solid stain.
Wanting to paint your shingles but would like to save a bit of labor? We can offer you factory primed shingles to save you one giant step in the process. Do you love that Cape Cod weathered look of a white cedar shingle but don’t want to wait for the sun to do it’s thing? We have you covered. Our weathering stain chemically reacts to the surface of the shingle, mimicking the look of a weathered shingle while accelerating the natural weathering underneath. Within a short time that weathering stain will break down, leaving you with a beautifully, uniformly weathered shingle even underneath your dormers and doorways.
Whatever your vision is for your home, we can help you bring it to life!
